On St. Patrick's Day in Chicago (celebrated the Saturday before March 17) all eyes are on the Chicago River as it is ceremoniously dyed green.

July 13 was a pretty exciting social media day in Chicago. A thunderstorm rolled through the city, leaving a stunning double rainbow over the city in its wake. If you follow someone from Chicago on Instagram, I'm sure you gave it a double tap and a heart-eyed emoji. It was pretty spectacular.

Essie and I went home to Chicago for Christmas and it was wonderful.

Yesterday I took my niece, Chloe, to the Shedd Aquarium for the morning. While we loved seeing the beluga whales and dolphins from the surface the best part of the visit was seeing them from below the surface. Chloe enjoyed her mid-morning snack while watching the dolphins swim.
