July 13 was a pretty exciting social media day in Chicago. A thunderstorm rolled through the city, leaving a stunning double rainbow over the city in its wake. If you follow someone from Chicago on Instagram, I’m sure you gave it a double tap and a heart-eyed emoji. It was pretty spectacular.
I was in the city for a client meeting that day and met my sister for dinner to wait out the weather. As I was driving north on Lake Shore Drive and then Sheridan Road I saw parts of the rainbow and an increasingly colorful sky. I pulled off at Gilson Beach in Wilmette and ran to the water with my camera. While I wasn’t able to capture the rainbow itself, I was totally wowed by the sky and the calm that followed.
