[8] Image of the Week

"Through the Gorge" Tami and I ventured through the gorge at Hell's Gate near Naivasha with our Maasai guide, Hampton.  Volcanic eruptions followed by centuries of flooding, hot springs and a number of other natural happenings have carved out haunting paths through the lower gorge.

"Torres del Paine Farewell" The fall colors in April make the Patagonian landscape even more impressive and add to the remote feeling one gets in a place like that. The tall, dried grass along the shore of Lake Pehoe invited me to sit and enjoy the clear view of the mountains from a different perspective. [...]

What’s that on your wrist?

28. Go to Lollapalooza (perhaps with a press pass??) 8/5/11 That would be my media bracelet, no biggie. A Functional Packing List

What does a girl need for three weeks on the trail?  This is what I thought I needed, and I was about 90% right: 1 sleeping bag (I ❤ compression sacks!) 1 sleeping bag liner (hostels can be gross and/or the trail can be cold) 1 pair broken in hiking boots and extra laces (Kilimanjaro [...]

Crossing off the List

April was a big month for The List! 20. Take a Spanish refresher course 4/6/11 I had taken several years of Spanish, both in junior high and high school - but then I screwed it all up by studying Italian in college.  I even took it a step further by spending a semester in Rome my [...]
