In July I visited Lavender Hill Farm in Boyne City, Michigan with my sister, my aunt and my adorable nephew. The farm is free to visit and the smell alone makes it completely worth the drive. Allow about an hour to tour the drying room, the lavender fields (careful, busy bees are at work!) and stop by the lovely gift shop where you can purchase all things lavender – I especially enjoyed the lavender shortbread. The farm also hosts events, which, given the setting, I imagine are simply gorgeous.
It was a fun place to play around with depth of field using my Fuji TX1 and a couple of prime lenses. I only wish the smell could be captured on an SD card – it was incredible!
