“Christmas Sunset”
On Christmas afternoon, Essie and I went for a walk. Winnetka was quite while lit windows revealed Christmas scenes of kids still in their pajamas playing with new toys, friends and family laughing over a bottle of wine and all around happiness. We walked to Crow Island, my elementary school, and, despite Winnetka’s strict leash law, I let Essie run. We ended up exploring the Crow Island Woods as the sun was setting through the silhouette of hundred year old trees. It was such a memorable moment… running through the woods with my dog in the shadow of my elementary school as the sky was painted with a stunning Christmas sunset. Thank goodness for iPhones.
