I loved waking up this morning to see these faces and to learn more about the fabulous school that is educating hundreds of children at Giwa Farm. Makes me want to go back to Kenya immediately and bring everyone I know and love to meet these inspiring people!

This is truly remarkable. That’s ink in water. INK!
Master Italian photographer/graphic designer Alberto Seveso shoots high-speed photographs while ink mixes with water. His sinuous ink photographs are vividly mesmerizing and capture the imagination. I hope he prints these on large canvases and will be available for purchase!
Below works are from the a Due Colori series:

Lizzy and I attended a cooking demonstration at the resort to prefect our guacamole skills! I’m excited to try out Antonio’s recipe, maybe for Super Bowl Sunday!
While in Mexico, I went to a poolside cooking class where I learned to make some delicious guacamole.
You will need:
1/2 white onion, chopped
3 tomatoes, diced
1/2 bunch cilantro, finely chopped (large stems removed)
1/2 habanero green pepper, seeds removed and finely chopped (optional)
Lime juice from 1/2 lime
6 ripe avocados, diced (save pits!)
Salt and pepper
Add ingredients to bowl and mix.
Serve with taco chips, enjoy! Save leftovers in an airtight container WITH pit inside, this will prevent browning.

A big thanks to Antonio for some fabulous guacamole that I ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner in Mexico!!! (Swim cover, Target)

The Dustiest Day
Yesterday was an interesting visit to Mbaruku IDP camp in Kikopey. Tami, Irene and I were joined by three lovely lasses from Ireland and their Australian friend who had heard about the Dust Babies and wanted to assist in some way. As soon as the van rounded the corner we had a hard time seeing [...]
More on Jamii
Colorful school walls, painted by former volunteers The more time I spend at my current project, Jamii Children's Centre in Kibera, the more I'm impressed by the whole thing. First of all, the school in Kibera is part of a much larger project, Jamii International Outreach Ministries. JIOM is headed up by Maurice Kinyanjui and [...]
