Unplugged Travel

It's this time of year that I am able to catch up on the 40 or so travel magazines that have formed various piles around my apartment.  National Geographic Traveler, Afar, Travel and Leisure... to quote a good friend, it's like my porn.  But I do more than just look at the pictures, I actually [...]

Hometown Tourist

25. Go on a Chicago River architecture cruise. 9/12/11 I've gone up and down the Chicago River several times but I'd never gone on an actual architecture cruise until last night.  Chase and I used Kelli's Groupon for a 75 minute Wendella and soaked up our beautiful city on an equally beautiful evening.  The Groupon [...]

[8] Image of the Week

"Through the Gorge" Tami and I ventured through the gorge at Hell's Gate near Naivasha with our Maasai guide, Hampton.  Volcanic eruptions followed by centuries of flooding, hot springs and a number of other natural happenings have carved out haunting paths through the lower gorge.
