A few weeks ago long time family friend, John Mjoseth, asked me to take a unique set of portraits for him. In October John will be participating in a 620 mile bike ride from San Francisco to San Diego to raise money for the Challenged Athlete’s Foundation. John was first inspired to partake in this ride after meeting Jean, a young triathlete and mother of two who lost her right leg below the knee in a car accident in 2005. With the assistance and support of CAF Jean is still able to compete in triathlons, thus maintaining a part of her life that has come to define her more than her disability does. John is determined to raise money to assist other athletes like Jean.
We took a few images of Jean with her family and then a few more of Jean and John on their bikes. It was a HOT day but we didn’t let the heat stop us from capturing images of this inspiring woman!
To support John’s goal to raise $10,000 for CAF and to learn more about the ride, feel free to visit his fundraising page.
