Just over 5 years ago Jennie’s brother married my sister, making us sisters-in-law-in-law or something like that. I was so honored when Jennie asked me to cover the celebration of her marriage to Ned and even more excited when I realized that it would include a trip to Cape Cod! I got to meet Ned this past summer when they came through Chicago and we snapped a few engagement portraits along Lake Michigan. They are such an EASY couple to work with and so clearly comfortable with one another, it makes my job a real joy! And their wedding party… well I’m sure the images speak for themselves – this group knows how to have a fun time!
After a church ceremony Jennie, Ned, family and friends celebrated the union in a tented backyard reception at Jennie’s childhood home. Ever since seeing Father of the Bride, I’m sure that many little girls have fantasized about a backyard wedding and, I must say, this one was nothing short of cinematic. The breezy evening coupled with the paper lanterns, good music, hysterical toasts, joyous laughter and little Cape Cod decor touches all melted together into something truly beautiful and memorable!
